Open Match Report 16/8/20

12 anglers fished the Open Match at Chiselhampton on Sunday 16th August from 10am to 3pm. This match replaced the scheduled away match at Thame A.C as they are not currently holding any matches. Comfortable winner was Kevin Smith who recorded the best match weight of the season so far with 7lb 1oz from Peg 19. Kevin pole fished maggot for the first 4 hours of the match & then fished worm for the final hour for a nice mixed net of dace, roach, chub & perch. Second was Charlie Green who made the long walk up to Peg 1 with a bad foot worthwhile with 3lb 10oz. Joint third were Ian Blyth & Andy Brooks with 3lb 5oz from Pegs 4 & 21 respectively. The stocked barbel continued to make their presence felt and were caught on Pegs 1, 4 & 17 during the match. They are currently only 10 - 12oz but can already put up a good bend in your rod!
