Match Report 28/6/20 - Charles Wiblin Twilight Tophy

12 anglers fished the Charles Wiblin Twilight Trophy match at Cuddesdon on Sunday 28th June 2020 from 3pm to 8pm. All anglers were severely compromised by a blustery wind with an average speed around 20mph & gusts up to 40mph! Needless to say bait presentation & bite detection were problematic. Several competent anglers had drawn "good" pegs so this was always going to be a tightly contested competition despite the weather. Eventual joint winners were Kevin Smith & Joey Gleed both with 4lb 6oz from pegs 28 & 3 respectively. Both Kevin & Joey caught most of their fish on pole fished maggot. Narrowly beaten into third place was Charlie Green on Peg 21 with 4lb 5oz & fourth was Dick Martin with 3lb 9oz from Peg 5. Back up weights were also respectable & the general consensus was that the match would have been won with 6lb plus if the weather was better. The next match is now an "Open" at Cuddesdon this Sunday July 5th with a 9am draw & fishing from 10am to 3pm & everybody's welcome! All anglers must book in for the match with Bryan Ball (Match Secretary) by 1pm on Saturday the 4th July. Bryan can be contacted on 07794 551679 (mobile) or 01865 343445 ( home answerphone).
