Match Report 23/8/20 - Battle Cup

11 anglers fished the Battle Cup Match at Cuddesdon on Sunday 23rd August from 7.30am to 12.30pm. Weather conditions were reasonable but recent heavy rain had swollen the river by around two feet which made a lot of pegs unfishable. Winner was Ray Cook on Peg 16. Ray is a fairly new member who doesn't know the river but he was advised by Match Secretary Bryan Ball to fish for large bream. Ray duly set himself up with a lead rod & groundbait feeder & his patience was rewarded when after four hours he caught a bream of 6lb 10oz! This bream along with a few perch & roach gave him a total weight of 7lb 11oz. Second was Charlie Green on Peg 26 who caught 6lb 15oz of roach & perch feeding hemp & caster. Third was Keith Nash with 3lb 14oz from Peg 28 & fourth was Kevin Smith with 3lb 1oz from Peg 18.
