Match Report 16/6/19 - John Hemming Cup

10 anglers fished the opening match of the season the John Hemming Cup on Sunday the 16th June from 7.30am - 12.30am at Chiselhampton. After recent rain the river had good colour but the extra water made several pegs difficult to fish with the extra flow. Bait presentation was further compromised by an increasingly gusty wind which seemed to be blowing from all directions! After a slow start on Peg 4 Julian Rayment won the match with 3lb 7oz which included a number of big dace. Julian pole fished maggot over groundbait which started to produce results after 30 minutes. Second place was Richard Cantwell with 2lb 12oz on Peg 9. Richard was struggling for bites but managed to catch two chub around 1lb late on in the match. Third was Keith Ring on Peg 10 with 2lb 5oz & fourth was Kevin Smith on Peg 14 with 2lb 0oz.
