8 anglers fished the Last Chance Trophy match on Sunday 1st March from 10am to 3pm. Once again the match had to be moved onto the carp lake at Berrick Salome as the River Thame continues to be flooded into the fields. After recent good results on the lake expectations were high. These were soon dashed as the carp didn't seem to be in their usual places & weren't really feeding. Bites gradually increased later in the match & eventual winner was Keith Nash who spent the first four hours of the match with no bites & managed to catch three carp in the last hour for a weight of 12lb 0oz on red maggot. Second was 11 year old Henry Rayment with 10lb 5oz caught on method fished pellet. Third was Kevin Smith with 7lb 0oz also caught on legered red maggot. At the time of writing it looks like the final match of the season which is the Presidents Cup will also be fished at Berrick Salome on Sunday 8th March. Draw time & fishing hours have yet to be decided.
