5 anglers fished the Pike Cup at Chiselhampton from 9am to 2pm on Sunday 3/12/17. The low clear river conditions persist but this should have a positive impact when fishing for "sight" predators such as pike. Dropped runs were the order of the day with 1st place eventually going to Kevin Smith with a pike of 4lb from Peg 5. Phil Allmond was unlucky to lose a decent pike at the net & caught a small jack on a worm that he was legering for chub on Peg 6! Most anglers saw some pike pick up their bait then drop it after a short time. Bryan "Otter" Ball seems to encounter otters everywhere he fishes on the Thame & managed to lose two deadbaits to his furry friends on Peg 2 - luckily the otter was clever enough not to get itself hooked!
