Match Blog 18/2/18 Bob Gibson Cup

7 anglers fished the Bob Gibson Cup from 9am to 2pm. The match venue was moved from Cuddesdon to the carp lake at Berrick Salome as the River Thame was unfishable at all three of our venues & we've no spare Sundays before the end of the season so the match could not be re-scheduled. Eventual winner was Kevin Smith with 7 carp for 29lb 11oz. The first two carp were caught on pole fished red maggot but an increasing crosswind meant a change to a small lead fished amongst loose fed maggot was in order. Second place was Bryan "Otter" Ball with 4 carp for 16lb 2oz narrowly beating 14 year old Lewis Nash who also caught 4 carp for 14lb 5oz for third place. Fourth place went to Dave Bloomer who caught a nice common of 6lb 2oz.
