Match Blog 13/8/17 - Barry Greenaway Cup

A rather high river after recent rain greeted the 14 anglers that fished the Barry Greenaway Cup at Drayton St.Leonard from 3pm - 8pm, the last evening match of the season. Several pegs were unfishable due to the high water. Eventual joint winners were Dave Bloomer & Julian Rayment with a weight of 3lb 11oz each from pegs 8 & 4 respectively. Dave employed an unusual float legering technique to account for mainly chub whilst Julian used the more conventional maggot fished pole method. Julian had two nice perch over 1lb with the larger weighing 1lb 5oz. 3rd place was Bryan Ball with 3lb 9oz from peg 13 & 4th was Richard Cantwell with 2lb 15oz from peg 6. Next match is the Horspath Cup at Chiselhampton from 7.30am - 12.30pm, draw will be at 6.45am - see you there.
