Match Blog 10/9/17 - N & G Ring Pairs Cup

A surprisingly cold morning greeted the twelve anglers who fished the N & G Ring Pairs Match at Drayton St. Leonard from 7.30am - 12.30pm. A random draw saw the anglers divided into six pairs fishing for a total combined maximum weight. Despite recent rain the river hasn't got much flow and remains low & fairly clear which coupled with the cold morning didn't inspire much confidence that the river would fish well. Eventual winners were Richard Cantwell & Bryan Ball from pegs 12 & 6 respectively with a total weight of 4lb 4oz. Second, third & fourth placed pairs were only separated by 1oz with the runners up being Julian Rayment & Trevor Cantwell with 3lb 6oz narrowly beating Kevin Smith &  Keith Nash into third place with 3lb 5oz. Next match is scheduled for the 24th September at Cuddesdon fishing the Brian Coles Cup, draw will take place at 6.45am which is the last early draw of the season!
