River Thame Championship Match Report

Two of our members were unable to attend the match.  We therefore had only two teams in the competition.  There was another team short of 2 members, so our two who did turn up kindly fished for that team - The Renegades. 14 teams of 4 therefore fished the match on a beautiful September day. Cuddesdon A came 10th and Cuddesdon B 11th.  The winning team was Chinnor, second was Oxford Waltonians, third was Acorn Angling and 4th, Kev's Team.

Our only consolation was that one of our members, Roger Smith, won the B section prize, because he caught a bonus Brown Trout weighing 3lb 6oz. Weights were generally poor with the winning individual weights only round the 6lb mark and apart from the trout and a few 2lb perch nothing of note was caught (apart from someone's pet Koi Carp, no idea how that got in the Thame) but an enjoyable day was had by all, its nice to know we're not the only ones who struggle with crayfish at this time of year!
