We had an extremely hot days fishing with temps around 28 degrees. Based on this and generally low water we were not expecting a good day. 8 anglers fished. Through the week we had extensively tried to remove crayfish from the proposed swims for the match. Based on previous years we were not expecting weights to be more than probably a couple of pounds. It appears our endeavours paid off. We also surveyed all the river depths prior to Sunday so we peg only reasonable depth swims.  Max weight was Kevin with 4lb 10 oz and we had 3 weights in the 4 lb range. This was a good result and we believe vindicates our actions to try and improve every ones fishing experience on the river. I realise you may say this is only for the match fishing, but this will improve all the swims used on the river in the long term. We will continue with this work through out the year. enjoy yr time on the river.

We would love to see some new faces at the matches. You will find all the guys a friendly bunch who are will to give advice on the swims you draw and fishing the river thame in general. It is also a good way to learn the river and to find out which are the better swims at different times of the year. Please call me if you have any questions.

Richard Borrell ; match secretary.
