Match Report 23/9/18 - Brian Coles Cup

Despite yet another wet weather forecast 11 anglers fished the Brian Coles Cup at Cuddesdon from 7.30am to 12.30pm. Bryan Butler used chopped worm & maggot tactics to win the match from Peg 18 with 3lb 11oz. Second was Roger Smith with 3lb 8oz from Peg 3, third Tony Coffin with 3lb 2oz  from Peg 14 and fourth was Bryan "Otter" Ball with 2lb 4oz from Peg 5. Good news for the rest of the anglers was that the rain finally abated 30 minutes from the end of the match so they could pack up in the dry! Considering how dry the year has been we seem to have spent an inordinate amount of time match fishing in the rain. Next match is the John Smith Trophy at Drayton Bridge with a civilised draw time of 10.15am & fishing from 11am to 4pm as it's the first in a sequence of 3 afternoon matches for the club.
