11 anglers got the message that the Hue Williams Cup match had been re-scheduled to the morning to avoid clashing with the football World Cup final in the afternoon. Sincere apologies to the two anglers who turned up in the afternoon! The match was fished at Chiselhampton from 7.30am to 12.30pm in bright sunny conditions. First place was taken by Kevin Smith on Peg 13 with a mixed bag of small fish mainly consisting of chub, dace, roach, gudgeon, bleak. Also included was Kevin's first ever River Thame barbel of around 4oz which contributed to his weight of 3lb 15oz. Second was Julian Rayment on Peg 8 with 2lb 10oz, third Richard Cantwell Peg 4 with 2lb 8oz & fourth was Dick Martin on Peg 9 with 2lb 0oz. Bryan "Otter" Ball was visited by his furry friend during the match on Peg 14. Julian Rayment also caught a small barbel on Peg 8 so they are definitely establishing themselves along our sections of the River Thame!
