Match Report 1/12/19 - Cuddesdon Cup

The Cuddesdon Cup match was originally scheduled to be fished on October 20th but was cancelled due to flooding. The match was re-scheduled to Sunday 1st December but had to be fished at Chiselhampton as the recent rain has pushed the river level up so it's just within it's banks. Only seven anglers decided to fish the match from 10am to 3pm. Match secretary Bryan Ball made the match a "rover" rather than peg down as many pegs were unfishable. Bryan Ball drew number 1 which gave him first choice of peg & he made it count with his fourth successive win! Bryan fished Peg 12 for the third successive match & once again caught a 2.5lb chub on pole fished maggot in the slack water under his feet! A few smaller fish added to his winning weight of 2lb 11oz. Second was Julian Rayment with a chub of 1lb 6oz caught on legered bread from Peg 9 & third was Kevin Smith with a chub of 8oz  on legered maggot from Peg 4 which was virtually underwater! The results were rather disappointing as several anglers reported missed bites from "proper" chub during the match.
