Match Blog 29/10/17 Ralph Holman Cup

11 anglers fished the Ralph Holman Cup at Chiselhampton on Sunday 29th October from 8am to 1pm apart from one angler (who shall remain anonymous) that forgot to put his watch back an hour and packed up at 12 noon! The anglers were greeted by a very low river and a cold blustery North wind. This exacerbated the poor fishing we experience at this time of year as it's too cold for the small fish to feed but not cold enough for the big chub to be caught. As expected results were very poor with first place being taken by Dave Bloomer on Peg 4 with 1lb 0oz. Second was Bryan Ball with 14oz, third was Roger Smith with 12oz and fourth was Richard Cantwell with 11oz. At least we can look forward to a few more frosty mornings and some proper chub fishing soon!
