Match Blog 12/11/17 - Ron Smith Rosebowl

10 anglers fished the Ron Smith Rosebowl at Cuddesdon on Sunday 12/11/17 from 8am to 1pm. Recent rain had increased the very low river by a couple of inches but a cold blustery North wind with gusts up to 35 mph made any method of fishing & bait presentation very difficult! Dave Bloomer proved that lightning can strike twice when he recorded back to back wins courtesy of another big perch from Peg 14. This time it was a specimen of 2lb 3oz caught on maggot which along with a small chub enabled Dave to win the match with 2lb 5oz. Second place was taken by Kevin Smith from Peg 10 with 1lb 12oz, third Bryan Ball with 1lb 4oz from Peg 5 & fourth Tony Coffin with 1lb 2oz. We really need some more rain to top up the river & few more frosty mornings to get the big chub to feed.
